Five people died in two days in crashes on ice- and snow-covered roads north of Spokane. Three died just Saturday in a three-car wreck. Weather according to Washington State Patrol was a likely factor for more than a dozen of different collisions.
“The 3 car crash occurred after a southbound Plymouth Voyager lost traction on U.S. Highway 2 about a mile north of Riverside and, when the driver applied the brakes to try to slow down, the van was rear-ended by a white Dodge pickup truck, Trooper Mark J. Baker said. The van spun into the northbound lanes and was broadsided by an oncoming Toyota pickup.”
Washington State Patrol responded to 150 accidents Friday and then received reports of more than 80 by the next afternoon.
