12-year-old Driver Injured in Car Accident

Comments Off

A 12-year-old boy has been badly injured in a car wreck when he lost control of the SUV he was driving and crashed with another car on Monday, reports the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office.

The boy was transported by ambulance to Oregon Science and Health University Hospital in Portland. His condition was not available immediately, but the sheriff’s office reports he is critically injured.

The boy was driving a Toyota Sequoia with two passengers – his father’s girlfriend and her 12-year-old daughter. They suffered minor injuries and were treated and released.

The SUV driven by the boy slid sideways on North Pekin Road near Woodland and into the path of a 1993 Ford Taurus, which had two occupants, who were also slightly injured, the sheriff’s office said.

Excessive speed appeared to be a factor in the crash, the office said.
